Training Groups

There are four separate levels to the Richmond Aquatics Club team. The groups are separated by skill, ability level and dedication. Swimmers will be placed in each group at the coaches' discretion. Movement from one group to the next will be evaluated by the coaches during the swim season.

SENIOR +
  This new training group will be made up of dedicated swimmers who are on the path to a "Disciplined Pursuit of Excellence". There is practice requirements as well as additional training requirements for this group. All members must attend 90% of the workouts. In addition to the work in the water, the swimmers will take part in dryland workouts as well. This group will train Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 3:30 - 5:30 PM, Mondays and Wednesday 5:30 - 7:00 AM, Sundays 9:00 - 11:00 AM. Meet Goals: Junior Olypics, Zones, Senior Mets and Sectionals

Senior Group I
  Senior Group I – Practices for the Senior I group are 3:30 - 5:30PM Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays from 9:00 - 11:00 AM. There will be two morning workouts available beginning in October to both Senior Groups Mondays and Wednesdays 5:30 - 7:00 AM - Meet Goals: Silvers, Junior Olympics and High School Champs

Senior Group II
  Senior Group II – Swimmers in this group are expected to attend at least 3 practices a week. Practices for the Senior Group II are Mondays,Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 7:00 - 9:00 PM, Fridays from 5:30 - 7:30 PM. and Saturday from 12:00 - 2:00 PM. Meet Goals: Silvers, Junior Olypics, Zones and High School Champs

Junior Group I
  Junior Group – This group is made up of swimmers that are 12 and unders of a higher ability level. Swimmers must have knowledge of all four competitive strokes. Workouts will focus on technique and skill development. Swimmers are expected to make at least 2 practices a week. Practices are Tuesdays - 5:30 - 7:00 PM, Wednesdays 5:30 - 7:00 PM, Fridays 7:00 - 8:30 PM and Saturdays 2:00 - 3:30 PM. Meet Goals: Silvers, Junior Olympics and Zones

Junior Group II
  This group is made up of swimmers from the age of 6 - 10. This groups will place a focus on technique and developing the basics of competitive swimming that will last a lifetime! Practices are Mondays and Thursdays - 5:30 - 7:00 PM and Saturdays 2:00 - 3:30 PM.

Pre-Competitive
  The pre-competitive group is the first step towards becoming a competitive swimmer. If you aren't ready to join one of our training groups you can start here and learn the skills necessary to get you on your way to a life of fast swimming. This group meets 2 times a week. The focus of this group is skill development and endurance.
